I have a client with a Plone 2.5 site running Quills 1.5RC3. They want to migrate Plone 3. For my part, since Plone 3.1 is such a smooth upgrade, I'd like to take them straight to 3.1. At this point, it seems that their use of Quills is the largest hurdle to the upgrade. What is the status and schedule for migration support and what might I be able to contribute to the migration effort? I have quite a bit of experience with contentmigration having written the CMFMember to remember migration code. I'm also very excited to hear about QuillsEnabled. I think this approach is much more maintainable so I'd very much like to migrate the client from their dedicated content type instances to stock Plone content types using QuillsEnabled. Is there a migration path planned for migrating previous Quills content into Quills enabled content? If so, what's its status and schedule? The option I'd like to avoid recommending to the client is that I write some one off migration code that migrates their blog content to vanilla Plone content if the maintenance risk of Quills is too great. This client is, of course, looking to move quickly. Aren't they all. :) So I really appreciate any rapid response you can find the time to give. Thanks! Ross
